The Macedonia Community Development Corporation of South Brevard (Macedonia CDC) Organization was founded in 2006, with the mission of developing safe, quality, attractive and affordable housing.   Effective September 17, 2007 we were granted IRS 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization status

Our mission is to serve as an agent of change in the revitalization of the urban communities by:

 

  • Building quality affordable housing that is suitable and environmentally responsive for low income families.

  • Providing activities deemed to achieve economic self-sufficiency and family stabilization.

  • Providing counseling services to middle and high school students.

  • Helping prepare our students to obtain the core skills and knowledge needed for college and or jobs.

  • Designing workshops to assist students with completing application process for college, military or employment.

  • Concentrating on providing Robotics (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education) Instructions for our 4th, 5th and 6th graders.  Based on the needs identified by Brevard County schools.

 

 With our core values and guiding principles we are committed to serving low and moderate income individuals and families to include senior citizens and veterans. Our commitment to quality service is our most important priority as we seek to exceed our clients' expectation. We collaborate with residents, businesses, non profits, and government partners in the development and revitalization of neighborhoods in South Brevard.

We envision the transformation of economically challenged communities into viable, thriving and sustainable neighborhoods that promote social and economic diversity.

Our Aim

  • Revitalize depressed neighborhoods by establishing sustainable economic development initiatives.

  • Provide affordable housing and educational resources for very- low, low or moderate income persons, and families in the Brevard County area.

  • Increase the availability of affordable housing and personal assistance to senior citizens and veterans..

  • Continue to partner with the Brevard County Board of Commissioners, Florida; City of Melbourne Florida; City of Palm Bay Florida and other government agencies and private industries to enhance our effort in the community’s revitalization program.

  • Macedonia CDC intends to expand the supply of decent, safe, sanitary and affordable rental housing opportunities in the City’s targeted area, supporting the City of Melbourne Consolidated Plan for low income senior citizen households with incomes at or below 80% AMI. 

Macedonia Education, Technology and Career Academy (METCA), an organization developed by Macedonia Community Development Corporation of South Brevard to provide education, training and assistance to our youth to better prepare them for solving tomorrow’s challenges, and to provide professional training to south Brevard community members, and to assist them with employment in the career of their training. 

 

  • Youth Education/Training : Science Technology Engineering and  Mathematics (STEM)

  • Enrichment and Enhancement:  (STEM) Robotics) Training and Workshops.

  • Provide counseling services to middle school students.

  • Provide counseling services to high school juniors and seniors.

  • Provide training, mentoring and job search assistance to our adults for entry level jobs.

  • Provide life skills and education to improve families living and social standards

  • Revitalize depressed neighborhoods by establishing sustainable economic development initiatives.

  • Provide affordable housing and educational resources for very- low, low or moderate income persons and families in the Brevard County area.

  • Seek committed volunteers, investors to help accomplish our goals.

  • Assist senior citizens in obtaining home repairs, accessibility modifications, energy efficiency measures and connect to community resources to keep low-income homeowners living safely and independently in their homes.

  • Help meet individual family and community housing needs by securing and developing properties in the South Brevard area in order to improve the living environment of low income families in our community.

  • The desired result from our efforts is to inspire the people of South Brevard County to make a difference by improving the living conditions of the whole family and their community.
